Full Job Description Job Title:
Medical Assistant Job Overview The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting patient care by performing clinical and administrative duties. This includes verifying patient information, recording medical histories, preparing patients for exams, and assisting providers with treatments and procedures. Schedule Monday - Thursday 10 am to 7:00 pm Friday 8 am to 5 pm Key Responsibilities Patient Interaction & Intake Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and guide them as needed. Verify patient information, collect medical history, and confirm the purpose of visit. Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.). Admit patients following established protocols for medical, lab, and radiology departments. Clinical Support Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient evaluations and procedures. Perform ancillary tests within certification scope (e.g., EKGs, lab specimen collection). Assist in minor surgeries, apply dressings/splints, and administer medications as directed. Complete prior authorizations and medication refill requests. Documentation & Records Accurately enter patient data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Complete necessary forms and ensure proper documentation of care. Check patients out and finalize records according to company protocol. Facility & Equipment Maintenance Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and nurse stations. Prepare rooms between patients, dispose of waste, and restock supplies. Operate, calibrate, and maintain clinical equipment per company standards. Administrative Support Assist with data verification, and document scanning. Support inventory management of medical supplies, injections, and vaccines. Attend staff meetings and complete ongoing training and certifications. Other Duties Perform additional clinical or administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited institution. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Proficient in computer systems and Microsoft Office applications. Competency in basic clinical procedures (e.g., blood draws, EKG). Team-oriented with a positive attitude. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Working Conditions Fast-paced medical office environment. Must meet deadlines and performance objectives within designated timeframes.
