Addison Group is partnering with a well-established outpatient specialty practice that is committed to providing exceptional patient care. Our client is seeking motivated Medical Assistants to join their growing clinical team across multiple locations in the Plano and Frisco area.
Job Description:
Our client is looking for compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistants to support providers in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role combines direct patient care, clinical support, and administrative responsibilities to ensure an outstanding patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures. Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and other patient information in the EMR. Assist providers during exams and perform routine clinical duties within scope of practice. Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and provider instructions. Process prescription refill requests and assist with medication prior authorizations. Respond to patient phone calls and communicate provider recommendations. Prepare, stock, and maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical equipment. Clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control standards. Recognize and appropriately respond to patient emergencies by following established clinical protocols. Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Support clinic workflow improvements and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide efficient patient care.
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant with 1-2 years of clinical experience OR 5+ years of Medical Assistant experience if not currently certified. Previous experience in allergy & asthma, primary care, family medicine, or urgent care is highly preferred. Experience working with an electronic medical record (EMR); NextGen experience is a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.
