Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description About Us:
We are an outpatient clinic who provides Allergy/Immunology services to San Antonio and the surrounding areas. We are nested in the heart of San Antonio's Downtown Medical District and are 1.5 miles from the Pearl Brewary and River Walk. We are looking for a Medical Assistant with interest or background in Allergy & Immunology as a career. The ideal candidate for this position has specific expertise or interest in the administration of high quality outpatient care for pediatric and adult patients with allergies, chronic respiratory problems and immunologic related ailments. Candidates should be able to work independently as well as with a team. They must have great dexterity and be comfortable with procedures. He or she should be a consummate professional, self motivated, a self learner, possess exquisite attentiveness/attention to detail, possess excellent communication skills, joyous attitude, punctual, have the ability to optimally critacally think and possess excellent organizational skills. They must be an expert multi-tasker, and tech savy.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Patient Intake (vitals, pmhx, rxs, weight etc…) Perform Procedures (spirometry, allergy testing, cerumen removal, patch testing, drug/food challenges, nasal smears, etc….) Administers Immunotherapy, Vaccines and Biologics Management of Biologics and Immunotherapy Preparation of Immunotherapy Management of medical supplies Provide pt education (EPIPEN, Immunotherapy/Biologic orientation, Inhalers, Peak Flows) Assist Provider with Clinical tasks
Experience:
  • Prior experience in an outpatient clinic setting is preferred (at least 1 yr)
  • Have a current MA certificate
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Pt first attitude and joyous demeanor
  • Reliable; Must be available at least 95% of clinic hours
  • Punctual
  • Have initiative and be resourceful
