Job Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) supports urgent care providers by preparing patients, performing clinical tasks, documenting encounters, and maintaining efficient clinic flow. This role ensures safe, accurate, and high-quality patient care. Work 3 shifts a week and 1 on call day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Room patients, collect vitals, and document medical histories.
Perform point-of-care tests:
flu, COVID, strep, UA, glucose, etc.
Assist with procedures:
injections, wound care, splinting, EKGs, nebulizers. Prepare rooms, sanitize equipment, and manage supply inventory. Administer medications per provider order (oral, IM, SQ). Perform venipuncture and manage lab specimens. Ensure accurate EMR documentation. Support radiology workflow (if X-ray limited-scope certified). Ensure OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control compliance. Provide excellent patient communication and service.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required; MA certification preferred. Prior urgent care, ER, or primary care experience helpful. Proficiency with EMR systems. Strong communication and multitasking skills.
