PRN Shifts Vary

Scope of Responsibility Medical Assistants and/or Licensed Vocational Nurses perform duties under the supervision of a physician. Interviews patients and prepare them for provider exam and treatment, measures vital signs and records information in EHR system. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assist physician with procedures. Clean and sterilize instruments. Administer injections to patients. Coordinate discharge planning and follow up care of the patients. Responsible to Practice Manager Education, Training and Experience High School Education or equivalent Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent years of experience or Current Licensure with The Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider 1 to 2 years previous physician's office experience preferred Experience scheduling surgeries and getting insurance benefits with authorizations preferred Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management, visitors and outside sources Bilingual preferred Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current insurance coverage Health and Background Requirements Employment contingent upon successful completion of: Background Check Lab Work Immunization Records Rarely (Less than ½ hour per day) Occasionally (½ to 2 ½ hour per day) Frequently (2 ½ to 5 ½ hours per day) Continually (5 ½ to 8 hours per day) Not Applicable Physical Sitting
