Summary As a Medical Assistant at Pediatrics of Southwest Houston, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our pediatric team. This position is essential in ensuring that our young patients receive the best possible medical attention in a welcoming environment. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, and blood pressure. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical supplies. Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR). Support the front office with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments. Foster a compassionate environment that encourages open communication with patients and families. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures related to pediatrics. Experience in patient care settings, preferably in a pediatric or urgent care environment. Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children and their parents. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus. Fluent in Spanish, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and families.
