1099 Independent Contractor About the
Role:
We are seeking a Medical Technician to support three essential patient services in a clinic setting: Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) testing , Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) , and Chronic Care Management (CCM) support . This is a 1099 contractor position ideal for someone who is comfortable with light diagnostic equipment, mobile apps, and face-to-face patient education. You'll play a key role in helping patients understand and participate in their care while assisting clinic providers and working alongside a dedicated care center team.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
ANS Testing:
Perform non-invasive circulation and nerve function tests (about 15 minutes total) Apply blood pressure cuffs, electrodes, and a pulse oximeter Follow the step-by-step, computer-guided instructions during the test Enter patient data and complete all necessary paperwork Educate patients about what the test measures (circulation, nerve function, etc.) 2. Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM): Identify eligible patients using the daily schedule and diagnosis codes Onboard patients to RPM by: Downloading the monitoring app to their smartphone Setting up their Bluetooth blood pressure monitor Teaching them how and when to use it (goal: at least 4 readings/week) Monitor patient compliance and call non-compliant patients to follow up Notify clinic staff of abnormal readings flagged by the system 3. Chronic Care Management (CCM)
Support:
Educate patients in-person about the CCM program during clinic visits Collect and submit signed patient consent forms Explain that a care center team will be calling monthly to review their care plan Follow up with patients who are not answering the care center's calls (via the clinic line) Remind them the calls are important and support their doctor directly When needed, pull up their care plan and ask brief follow-up questions over the phone Support provider requests (e.g., checking on medication adherence, requesting outside records)
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office or clinic (Required) Friendly, professional, and confident in face-to-face patient education Comfortable using smartphones, apps, Bluetooth devices, and basic diagnostic tools Organized and self-directed with strong follow-up skills EMR experience (Athena, Epic, or eClinicalWorks) is a plus Familiarity with chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease is helpful Will need to commute to a clinic in Conroe as well. -500 Medical Center Blvd Ste 355, Conroe, TX 77304
Position Details:
1099 contractor role (not W-2 — you'll handle your own taxes) $15/hour Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM No weekends or evening shifts to make an impact in a role that blends technology, patient care, and clinic support — all while helping improve outcomes for patients with chronic conditions.
