Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Front Desk professional, where your energy and dedication will directly enhance patient experiences and streamline clinic operations. This vital role combines clinical support with front office responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional service. You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing compassionate care and efficient administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. We are seeking a versatile, organized, and proactive Medical Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator to join our clinic team. In this dual role, you will bridge the gap between patient care and daily clinic operations. You will handle everything from welcoming patients and managing front-desk workflows to providing high-quality clinical support, including rooming, triage, and performing basic diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong insurance verification skills, and has hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW). Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties (Medical Assistant):
Patient Intake:
Room patients, obtain accurate vital signs, and document chief complaints (triage).
Clinical Procedures:
Perform routine diagnostic tests, including EKGs, and assist providers with minor in-office procedures.
Specimen Collection:
Perform basic laboratory tasks, including specimen collection (blood, urine, etc.), labeling, and preparing samples for processing.
EHR Management:
Accurately chart patient data, vitals, and histories within the eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic medical records platform.
Administrative & Front Desk Duties:
Front Desk Operations:
Greet patients, manage the check-in/check-out process, and answer multi-line phone systems.
Financial Transactions:
Securely handle cash drawers, process copays and balances, and accurately document patient payments.
Insurance Coordination:
Verify patient insurance benefits, understand coverage types, and assist with basic authorization workflows.
Clinic Flow:
Collaborate with providers and management to maintain an efficient daily patient schedule and minimize wait times.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Experience:
Minimum of 1 years of experience in a medical office setting handling both front and back-office duties.
EHR Software:
Hands-on experience with eMAR systems is preferred.
Clinical Competency:
Proven ability to perform general MA tasks confidently (vitals, rooming, specimen collection, injections, EKGs).
Financial Literacy:
Comfortable and accurate in handling cash, calculating copays, and managing payment processing terminal operations.
Communication:
Exceptional customer service skills, clear telephone etiquette, and a professional demeanor.
Preferred:
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) credential.
EHR Software:
Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is highly preferred. Strong foundational knowledge of medical insurance terminology, deductibles, and co-insurance.
