  • Brazos Foot & Ankle Waco, TX Part-Time or Full-Time Brazos Foot & Ankle is seeking a motivated and personable Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice in Waco, TX.
We are a fast-paced foot and ankle clinic that values teamwork, positivity, and excellent patient care. Our goal is to create a workplace where staff feel supported and patients feel cared for. Because we specialize in foot and ankle medicine and surgery , applicants must be comfortable working with feet, wounds, minor procedures, and occasional blood . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys patient interaction, and wants to grow within a medical practice.
SCHEDULE
Part time hours: Monday
  • Wednesday 8:00AM
  • 5:00PM Full time hours: Monday
  • Thursday 8:00AM
  • 5:00PM, Friday 830 AM
  • noon Hours may occasionally extend slightly if patient care requires it.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Assisting the physician during the examination and treatment of patients Escorting patients from the waiting room to exam rooms and preparing them for evaluation Measuring and recording vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, and height Interviewing patients and entering medical information into the electronic medical record to help facilitate the physician's evaluation Ensuring patient charts, documentation, and required forms are prepared prior to the provider entering the room Preparing treatment rooms prior to patient visits and procedures Assisting with in-office procedures and patient testing ordered by the physician Performing X-rays (training provided) Removing sutures or staples and assisting with wound care and dressing changes Cleaning and disinfecting treatment rooms and equipment following procedures Restocking medical supplies and maintaining an organized clinical environment Scanning patients for orthotics as directed by the physician Providing patient education and post-treatment instructions Maintaining sterile and non-sterile equipment according to clinic protocols Because we operate as a team-focused clinic , staff may also assist in other areas when needed to help the clinic run smoothly and provide the best possible patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred but not required : Completion of Medical Assistant training program Previous medical assistant experience Experience in podiatry, orthopedics, or procedural medicine Spanish speaking Most important qualities: High school diploma or GED Positive attitude Personable and friendly with patients Strong team player Eager to learn new skills Able to handle constructive feedback Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Flexible and adaptable as our growing practice evolves
OUR PRACTICE
Our clinic currently consists of: 1 physician 1 medical assistant 1 receptionist 1 practice manager Clinic days (Mon-Wed) are typically fast-paced , while Thursday and Friday are often used for follow-up care and administrative catch-up. We are a growing practice , and we value team members who are excited to help us improve workflows and bring new ideas to the table. We strive to maintain a positive, supportive workplace culture where staff feel like family . Our clinic also actively supports the local Waco community through outreach and partnerships .
