Position Summary:
An Internal Medicine Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and healthcare teams caring for adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. This role is responsible for assisting with patient intake, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, coordinating care, documenting information in the electronic medical record (EMR), performing clinical procedures within scope of practice, and helping ensure efficient daily office operations. The Medical Assistant serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, pharmacies, laboratories, and specialists while delivering compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care.
Essential Job Functions:
Typical responsibilities include rooming patients, medication reconciliation, administering injections or vaccines, preparing exam rooms, managing phone calls and refill requests, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and coordinating Prior authorizations
Qualifications:
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment are essential.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday 8-5 Friday 8-2:15
Additional Notes:
Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred to support communication with a diverse patient population.
