- 20/hour, depending on education and experience
Overview:
As a Medical Assistant, you will work alongside physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include patient intake, telephone triage, insurance authorizations, vital signs, immunizations, phlebotomy, exam room preparation, and administrative support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent customer service and communication skills Professional, courteous, and compassionate demeanor with patients and staff Strong organizational, multitasking, and computer skills Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing Fluent in both English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking required)
Essential Functions and Duties:
Answer phones, greet patients, and schedule appointments Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers as needed Record vital signs, medications, allergies, and relevant medical information Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies Communicate with patients regarding appointments and follow-up needs Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required Medical Assistant Certification preferred Fluent Spanish-speaking skills
REQUIRED
Minimum 1 year of medical office experience preferred 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Frequent repetitive motion involving computers and office equipment Work performed in a climate-controlled clinical setting Granger Medical Clinic offers competitive wages and excellent benefits.
