Job Description

Granger Medical Clinic is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant I to join our Murray Sleep & Lung clinic. This role is ideal for a dependable, patient-focused individual who enjoys working in a collaborative healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to support high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include telephone triage, insurance authorizations, recording vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature), administering immunizations, performing phlebotomy, maintaining exam rooms, and managing documentation. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Includes a 60-minute lunch break daily.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required Medical Assistant certification preferred Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience, preferably in Family Medicine Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients Dependable, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently Team-oriented with a willingness to support colleagues as needed Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English Professional verbal and written communication skills with physicians, staff, and patients Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and update patient demographic information for communication and insurance authorization purposes Prepare patients for examinations and ensure providers have all necessary information, including vitals, medications, allergies, and lab results Assist with appointment scheduling and respond to patient inquiries Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms Perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment Work is performed in a climate-controlled indoor environment Granger Medical Clinic offers competitive wages and excellent benefits.

Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience, education, and/or skill level.
