Job Description

Utah Orthopedic Spine & Injury Center Medical Assistant -
Orthopedics Summary:
Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical assistance to patients. The Medical Assistant will provide assistance to the physician with any and all clinical to include preparing equipment, ordering supplies, managing tests and documenting and communicating results, arranging follow up, providing supplemental information to patients and their families. Bilingual Spanish speaker is a plus
Responsibilities Include:
Assisting and escorting patients to the examination room Interviewing patients and recording patients' medical information Accurately documenting information in EHR Assistance with administrative duties to include maintaining medical records Answering patient phone calls Requesting and receiving prior authorizations Assisting patients with questions or concerns regarding their treatment under the supervision of the physician. Maintaining equipment and maintenance & testing logs for equipment. Perform sterilization of equipment. Knowledge and Skills Must be organized and detail-oriented. Strong initiative and planning skills. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Extensive Experience Patient Electronic Health Records and Practice Management Systems Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel Education and Work Experience High school diploma or equivalent Bilingual in Spanish is a plus Working Conditions Supportive Office with Teamwork Values Fast paced environment. Constant interaction with physicians and patients Must be able to stand, pivot and walk frequently throughout the day
