Job Description

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant is an essential member of the clinical team in our ENT Medical Practice, responsible for supporting physicians and other healthcare professionals in the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role combines clinical and administrative duties, ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience in a fast-paced, multi-office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and updating patient records. Assist providers during exams and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and administer medications or immunizations as directed by providers. Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms according to infection control protocols. Provide patient education on ENT procedures, medications, and post-visit care instructions. Administrative Duties Schedule patient appointments, verify insurance information, and facilitate referrals to specialists or diagnostic services. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages between patients and providers. Manage inventory of medical and office supplies, restocking as necessary. Patient Communication & Service Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. Address patient concerns and questions with empathy and professionalism. Coordinate with other clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care. Compliance & Quality Assurance Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Follow all practice policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is required. Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting, preferably in ENT or a related specialty, is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and infection control practices. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and computer use. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist patients as needed.

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
