General Medical Assistant responsibilities include:

Assisting Physician with clinical procedures Obtaining patient vital signs Brings patients back to exam rooms and prepares patients for physician by obtaining accurate medical history, vital signs and other necessary clinical information. Administers medications and injections per physician orders. Performs triage through appropriate communication and documentation. Set up sterile field for procedures and prepares specimens to send out to reference labs in accordance with laboratory guidelines and insurance plan requirements. Reports lab, pathology and radiology results to patients per physicians' direction to ensure timely receipt and reporting of results. Assists physician with discharge instructions and necessary patient follow-up and education. Includes calling in prescriptions into pharmacies when necessary. Assists in management of patient records electronically. Prepares rooms for procedures

• ensures proper functioning of medical equipment and maintains adequate stock of supplies.

Cleaning and Autoclaving of instruments. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned between patients and at the end of the day. Works with front office staff when clinical information is required to coordinate insurance referrals and authorizations. Provides support to front office staff when requested. Works with Office Manager and/or physician(s) to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures in accordance with internal and external regulations and guidelines. Works with other personnel in office to achieve department objectives. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.

Job Requirements:

High School Degree or equivalent 3+ years Medical Assistant experience Experience in general surgery/specialty, preferred Must possess exceptional customer service skills Must have strong clinical skills Must be able to work independently and on a team EMR experience preferred (Pulse and/or ECW) Experience with inventory/stocking medical supplies Professional demeanor Bi-lingual not required but a plus Loudoun Medical Group provides competitive compensation and benefits.
