Growth opportunities Great Benefits Supportive environment On the job training ETC Our team is in need of an experienced Medical Assistant in our Allergy department to provide clinical and clerical support to a busy Otolaryngology/ Facial plastics practice. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for giving allergy shots, patient care, environmental, organizational tasks and electronic chart management, greeting new patients, answering the phones when needed and providing general administrative support. A successful candidate for this position will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and medical office environment with a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for patient intake obtaining and documenting patient's history, current medications and medication allergies into the Electronic Medical Record System. Responsible for giving allergy shots Understand medical terms and conditions. Work with patients one-on-one to provide emotional support. Enhances the ability of the physician to efficiently process paperwork associated with the office visit and any needed follow up. Manage administrative duties and other assistant duties as assigned by physicians and other medical staff members. Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of patient's records. Prepares hazardous waste for collection by the specified collection company, according to schedule dates and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
Education:
Minimum high school diploma and Medical Assistant certification.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Word processing and computer skill is essential. Surgical and Facial plastics knowledge is preferred. Must be able to travel between Reston, Fairfax and Chantilly offices
