Job Summary Well established private practice (family owned and operated) seeking a highly skilled, detail‑oriented Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, communicates professionally, and delivers exceptional patient care while supporting providers with both medical and surgical dermatology services. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support & Patient Care Room patients efficiently and prepare them for visits Obtain accurate medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints Take vitals when appropriate Prepare patients for exams, biopsies, surgeries, and cosmetic procedures Provide clear post‑procedure and wound‑care instructions Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety at all times Assist with suture removals, dressing changes, and wound checks Surgical & Procedural Assisting Set up sterile and non‑sterile trays for biopsies, excisions, ED&C, cryotherapy, I&D, and other dermatologic procedures Maintain strict sterile technique Assist providers during procedures by handing instruments, managing specimens, and supporting patient positioning Apply dressings and ensure proper wound‑care education Prepare, label, and document pathology specimens accurately CLIA‑Certified Lab Responsibilities Follow all CLIA, OSHA, and practice protocols Prepare, label, and log specimens for dermatopathology Maintain lab equipment, solutions, and supplies Perform quality control checks as required Ensure proper specimen storage, pickup, and tracking Maintain compliance documentation and readiness for inspections Room Turnover & Infection Control Clean and disinfect rooms between every patient Restock rooms daily and maintain supply par levels Monitor expiration dates and rotate inventory Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment Supply & Inventory Management Track supply usage and notify management when items need reordering Maintain organization of supply closets, procedure rooms, and medication storage Assist with receiving, unpacking, and stocking supply orders Patient Communication & Coordination Return patient calls and portal messages regarding wound care, refills, post‑procedure concerns, and general clinical questions Document all patient interactions in the EHR Provide education on medications, skincare routines, and treatment plans as directed by the provider Communicate effectively with front desk, billing, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care Administrative & EHR Responsibilities Document procedures, medications, and clinical notes accurately Prepare pathology and procedure documentation for provider review Assist with prior authorizations for medications or procedures Ensure accurate charge capture and coding support for clinical services Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times General Expectations Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude Work collaboratively with providers and staff Adapt quickly to changing schedules and patient needs Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education Uphold patient confidentiality and practice standards Qualifications Medical Assistant certification preferred Dermatology experience strongly preferred Strong multitasking and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced clinical environment Knowledge of dermatologic terminology, procedures, and wound care is a plus
Pay:
