General Information:
The University Health Center provides a comprehensive array of health care services and health education programs to JMU students. Included in our health care services are several medical clinics, a pharmacy, a medical laboratory, and other programs that provide services for more than 30,000 patient encounters a year. UHC practices evidence-based medicine in a confidential, inclusive environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as medical assistant for 2 acute care clinics.
Perform check-in for medical appointments and prepare student for medical exams.
Perform tests such as EKG and phlebotomy per qualifications
Performs point of care testing as needed.
Assists with management of medical inventory
Assists with training of new student volunteers
Qualifications:
Required Current certification as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician
Ability to work well with college students in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service skills
Additional Considerations:
Phlebotomy experience
Previous work experience in a medical setting
Experience in an acute care medical setting
