The certified medical assistant performs a wide range of clinical duties including assisting the physician in providing quality care in a medical office setting. The certified medical assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge required to provide age appropriate care for the patients served in the practice, and skills to interpret assessment in relation to principles of growth and development over the life span. In addition, the certified medical assistant must be knowledgeable of health insurance guidelines for preauthorization's and referral processes, and be attentive to scheduling testing and specialist visits within network guidelines. Qualifications Education , Medical Assistant (Required) Experience 1-3 years Clinical experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
