Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care, and administrative support. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic while providing exceptional service to our patients. Responsibilities Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures. Perform intake procedures, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories. Administer medications as directed by physicians and maintain accurate medication records. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to ensure patient information is up-to-date and accurate. Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Conduct basic life support (BLS) as needed and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Support outpatient and inpatient care by collaborating with nursing staff and physicians. Utilize knowledge of ICD coding for accurate billing processes. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic environment. Assist with X-ray procedures when necessary and provide support in emergency medicine situations. Receptionist Duties (Cross-Trained Role) Patient check-in and check-out Verify demographics, insurance, and collect co-pays Answer phones and manage call flow Schedule appointments and follow-ups Scan/upload documents into EMR Handle patient questions professionally Requirements Previous experience in a medical setting such as clinic, hospital, or urgent care is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient management. Experience with various specialties such as dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, or emergency medicine is a plus. Ability to perform intake assessments, take vital signs accurately, and administer medications safely. Understanding of hospital operations within Level I or Level II trauma centers is beneficial. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in both clinical tasks and administrative duties. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
