Medical Assistant (MA) - Radiation Oncology

Sentara is hiring a Medical Assistant for their Brock Cancer Center Radiation Oncology/Ambulator Unit at the Brock Cancer Center in Norfolk, Virginia.

Shift:

This position is full-time/day shift. Hours can rotate between 630a - 8p, depending on patient load. Overview The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Must acquire one of the following certifications within nine (9) months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical Certified Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician Basic. GED REQUIRED

Experience Minimum of one year experience in a clinical/administrative setting

REQUIRED

Phlebotomy experience preferred Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Insurance knowledge and background preferred
