In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and hospital medicine. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support during emergencies. Support physicians and nurses with procedures in various specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and surgical settings like the OR. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient information, ICD coding for diagnoses, and updating treatment plans. Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for outpatient or inpatient visits. Facilitate patient flow by scheduling appointments, providing clear instructions for procedures, and answering patient questions with professionalism and compassion. Assist with laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and processing to support diagnostic testing in diverse clinical environments. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within outpatient or inpatient settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding to accurately document patient encounters. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with hospital environments including Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and specimen collection confidently. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care processes. Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding patient service across diverse populations including geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), medical-surgical units, internal medicine clinics, and emergency departments.
