Medical Assistant (Front & Back Office Support)

Full-Time - Onsite Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, patient-centered Medical Assistant who excels in front-desk operations and customer service, with the flexibility to support clinical back-office duties as needed. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, friendly, tech-savvy, and comfortable transitioning between administrative and clinical responsibilities in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Front Desk & Patient Experience (Primary Focus) Greet patients warmly and professionally, in person and by phone Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointments, and manage messages accurately Perform patient check-in and check-out Collect and verify patient information, forms, and consents Handle basic billing tasks such as copays and documentation (as applicable) Maintain a calm, helpful demeanor while managing a busy front desk Provide excellent customer service and resolve patient questions or concerns Administrative & Computer Skills Accurately enter and update patient data in the electronic medical record (EMR) Scan, upload, and organize documents Communicate effectively via phone, email, and internal messaging systems Support office workflows and assist team members as needed Back Office & Clinical Support (As Needed) Room patients and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, etc.) Ability to draw blood (phlebotomy certification a plus!) Assist with CLIA-waived testing following protocols and documentation requirements Prepare exam rooms for patients and procedures Clean and disinfect rooms between patients according to infection control standards Restock rooms and maintain medical and office supplies Assist clinical staff with basic patient care tasks within scope of practice Qualifications Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred (speak, read & write) Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Comfortable working with computers, EMR systems, and phones Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to changing priorities Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and infection control standards Experience with CLIA-waived testing preferred (or willingness to train) Clinic leadership preferred, but not required Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic Ability to lift and carry supplies as needed Comfortable working in both front office and clinical environments Benefits Health Insurance Stipend provided for individual / family health plan of your choice PTO Uniform/Scrub Allowance Consistent Schedule Opportunities for Growth What We Value A team-oriented mindset Compassion and professionalism with patients Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to help where needed Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming practice
