Certified Medical Assistant/CC005 2050 Hillpoint Boulevard North, Suffolk, VA 23434 Full-time Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a valid US Driver's License to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role combines clinical expertise with administrative support to ensure exceptional patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will thrive in fast-paced environments such as hospital medicine, urgent care, dermatology clinics, and trauma centers, providing compassionate service while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes and the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities. Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories, recording vital signs, and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound care, and basic life support (BLS) procedures. Support diagnostic processes by preparing patients for X-ray imaging, conducting basic anatomy and physiology assessments, and assisting with outpatient procedures. Manage medical administrative tasks including ICD coding, appointment scheduling, and maintaining detailed patient records to ensure compliance and efficiency. Conduct patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and health maintenance tailored to specialties like geriatrics, internal medicine, or emergency medicine. Support hospital teams in high-acuity environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or PICU by providing timely assistance in emergency situations. Ensure smooth clinic operations by coordinating patient flow, verifying insurance information, and facilitating communication between patients and providers. Skills Extensive knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care protocols, and emergency medicine procedures. Proficiency in EHR systems with experience in ICD coding, medication administration, and documentation standards. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to inpatient and outpatient care settings. Experience working within hospital environments such as Level II trauma centers or Level I trauma centers; familiarity with Geriatrics and medical-surgical units is a plus. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and assist with X-ray procedures or OR (Operating Room) support when needed. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU). Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments like emergency departments or urgent care clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
