Location :
On-site, Branch Health Clinic Dam Neck, Virginia Beach, VA Start Date :
Immediate Schedule :
Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM Support Women's Health for Navy Families. Are you a Medical Assistant who loves OB/GYN and wants a steady, team-based role? Join the OB/GYN team at Branch Health Clinic Dam Neck, where you'll help care for U.S. Navy service members and their families through prenatal visits, well-woman exams, and everything in between. What You'll Do Check patients in and perform initial screenings: vital signs, weight, fetal heart tones via Doppler, fundal height measurements, and record/report retrieval. Screen patients using standard questionnaires per clinic protocol. Prepare the electronic health record and any forms needed before each visit; have backup paperwork ready in case of an EHR outage. Review upcoming provider schedules to flag gaps and keep the team workflow on track. Provide patient instructions and health promotion materials per clinic protocol. Participate in daily team huddles and communicate clearly with providers, patients, families, and other departments. Use MHS Genesis, Care Point, and Secure Messaging to enter patient data, support population health metrics, and follow up with patients. Schedule appointments, prepare patient correspondence, and follow infection control and safety protocols. Who You Are A Medical Assistant who enjoys OB/GYN and is confident with fetal heart tone Doppler checks and fundal height measurements. Comfortable in an electronic health record and quick to pick up new clinic systems. A warm, clear communicator who puts patients at ease — especially during prenatal and women's health visits. Motivated by the chance to serve U.S. Navy service members and their families. What You'll Need Education & Experience High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (CAAHEP, ABHES, or a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program). At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 3 years; OB/GYN experience preferred. Certifications Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in-person, not web-based). Two letters of recommendation (one must be from a physician or supervisor who has personally observed your clinical work). Other Requirements U.S. citizenship (or eligibility to work on a federal military installation). Ability to pass a background check and obtain a base access ID. Up-to-date immunizations (Varicella, MMR, Tdap, Hepatitis B, annual flu) and TB screening. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, general data entry). Comfortable wearing required PPE (gloves, mask, eye protection, fitted respirator). Why You'll Love It Here Meaningful work — support women's health for U.S. Navy service members and their families through every stage of care. Steady, weekday schedule with all federal holidays off. Team-based care with OB/GYN providers, nurses, and support staff working side-by-side. Built-in training in MHS Genesis and clinic systems — stay current and grow your skills. 4% 401(k) match to help you build long-term financial security. Ready to Join Us?
