Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing essential administrative support while ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. Your contributions will be vital in facilitating patient care and enhancing the overall experience within our medical facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have experience in various medical settings, including outpatient and inpatient care. Duties Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately. Manage appointment scheduling and maintain an organized calendar for healthcare providers. Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and vital signs. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient information and update records efficiently. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans, medication administration, and follow-up appointments. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and address any inquiries or concerns promptly. Maintain knowledge of ICD coding, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to assist in administrative tasks. Support emergency medicine protocols by being prepared for urgent situations and assisting with triage as needed. Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Experience Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role is preferred. Familiarity with dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, internal medicine, geriatrics, and outpatient settings is advantageous. Proficiency in EHR systems and basic life support certification is required. Knowledge of vital signs measurement, medication administration procedures, and intake processes is essential. Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center or clinic environment is highly desirable. Understanding of medical-surgical practices, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room) procedures, and emergency medicine protocols is beneficial.
