  • Stafford, VA 22554 Apply Overview Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage Up to 25% Category Medical Assistant Apply Description A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical and administrative support to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in medical offices, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
The CMA assists with patient care, performs routine clinical procedures, maintains medical records, and helps ensure efficient daily operations while delivering high-quality patient service. Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information. Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures. Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers and within scope of practice. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing. Perform basic laboratory procedures and diagnostic tests. Remove sutures, change dressings, and provide patient education as instructed. Maintain examination rooms, medical equipment, and supplies. Administrative Duties Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars. Verify patient insurance information and obtain authorizations. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR). Answer telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries. Process referrals, prescriptions, and medical documentation. Assist with billing and coding functions as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations Qualifications Patient care and customer service skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures. Teamwork and professional communication.
