HealthPoint's Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program - July 2026 Cohort Applications accepted until 06/24/2026.

07/27/2026 The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is a unique opportunity to be part of a healthcare team as a Certified Medical Assistant through onsite training at one of our Primary Care clinics.
Position Details:
Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Monday-Friday Schedule, Occasional Saturdays Salary:
$22.50 hourly The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is a 13-month program that prepares students to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) test through the National Healthcare Association (NHA). The program trains students in the specific skills required to achieve the MA-C credential with Washington State. The program consists of 2000 hours of paid on-the-job training, 434 hours of unpaid online coursework, and 3 scheduled in-person off-site unpaid lab days for demonstration of skills. Medical Assistant Apprentices will perform back-office functions including patient preparation, support health care providers, laboratory procedures and clinic operations in a manner that promotes quality patient care. Apprentices complete an online course comprised of textbook readings, discussion posts, skill videos, and quizzes that take an average of 10 hours per week to complete through canvas. Online homework will be required on evenings and/or weekends through the online In-Reach MA Program. As part of the application process, you're required to attach a personal statement (350 words) on why you are applying for the Apprenticeship Program. This program requires a two-year service commitment with HealthPoint, which begins once the Apprenticeship Program is successfully completed, and you obtain an active Medical Assistant Certified license from the Washington State Department of Health. •As part of the application process, you're required to attach a personal statement detailing why you are interested in applying for the Apprenticeship Program.•

Being an MA takes flexibility, problem-solving, and determination — and we want to get to know you and your goals. We ask all applicants to submit a personal statement about why you are interested in this role at HealthPoint. In your personal statement, please share: Why you want to join this program Why do you believe you will succeed in this program Your personal goals for your future in healthcare Any challenges that might make it hard to finish the program, and how you plan to overcome them Your statement can be simple and from the heart — just keep it under 350 words. When you apply, upload your personal statement in the "Documents" section of your online application Your in-clinic contribution to the team includes: Supported daily clinic operations by preparing exam rooms, assisting with patient exams and procedures, and performing a wide range of point‑of‑care tests and clinical tasks. Helped maintain efficient patient flow by coordinating with providers, responding to patient messages, and providing clear instructions on medications, results, and follow‑up care. Ensured compliance and safety through proper sanitization, PPE use, HIPAA adherence, and completion of required training, laboratory controls, and opening/closing procedures. Demonstrated professionalism and teamwork by maintaining strong attendance, collaborating in meetings, and upholding HealthPoint's mission and core values. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities for the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship role. Must have's you'll need to be successful: High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Enrollment in the WACHC Registered Medical Assistant Training Program Required. CPR/BLS certification that must be obtained within 3 months of the apprenticeship start date. Practicing as a medical assistant includes many duties identified in
RCW 18.360.050.
Proof of vaccination for
COVID-19
is required, prior to start. HealthPoint does not accept the Johnson & Johnson
COVID-19
vaccine as proof of vaccination. If you have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, we ask that you provide documentation demonstrating proof of an alternate COVID vaccine or vaccine series. All new employees are also required to show proof of immunizations and/or immunity to MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, annual Influenza and TB QuantiFERON Gold Titer. Additionally, if you work in a HealthPoint clinic, Tdap (within last 10 years) is required. Hepatitis B. is required for clinical employees with potential exposure to blood/blood products. All immunizations are a condition of employment. Upon hire, employees must provide proof of their immunizations and/or immune titer results prior to starting or no later than their fifth (5) business day of employment.
Where to gather your records:
If you are providing immunizations from an electronic health record, please ensure that you obtain a copy of your full records rather than a screenshot. Each page of your records should include your first and last name, date of birth, and the name of the health system from which the records are pulled. If records do not show any data, please seek guidance from your provider for further assistance. If you are unable to provide proof as noted above, you can choose to have a lab titer drawn to check immunity or to be re-vaccinated. If you receive vaccination(s) or lab titers, you may obtain them through HealthPoint at no cost to you.
