Responsibilities:
Accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations. Assist healthcare providers with exam preparation and patient flow. Administer injections, including immunizations and other necessary medications. Collect and process specimens for lab testing following proper protocols. Perform administrative duties such as documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EPIC preferred). Prepare exam rooms, ensure cleanliness, and stock necessary supplies. Support patient education and provide excellent customer service. Maintain compliance with clinical standards and safety procedures.
Required Skills:
Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) with active licensure. Minimum of one year of recent outpatient clinic experience working with adult patients. Proficiency in vital signs, exam preparation, injections, and specimen collection. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of EPIC electronic medical records (preferred). Have Skills:
Previous experience in internal medicine or primary care clinics. Familiarity with geriatric patient care. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential is required. At least one year of outpatient clinical experience, particularly in adult primary care or geriatrics. Experience with
EPIC EMR
system and wellness visits is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
Schedule:
Four 10-hour day shifts per week, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Off on Wednesdays and weekends.
Location:
This role is based at a well-established clinical setting within a medical building on a hospital campus, with free parking available.
Travel:
This position is open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius; true travelers are not eligible. Temp-to-perm placement is anticipated.
Certifications:
Current CPR/BLS certification required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift light to moderate loads, and perform clinical procedures.
Licensure:
Valid WA medical assistant certification; COMPACT license accepted if applicable.
