We take a whole-person approach to healing and are actively expanding into primary care and mental health—making this an increasingly varied and dynamic clinical environment. We are seeking a Medical Assistant who brings both professionalism and heart: someone who can support daily clinic operations while contributing to a calm, grounded, healing space. You will work alongside our providers, supporting patient care from treatment through discharge, managing treatment room operations, supporting documentation, and holding the clinic space with skill and presence. This is a hands-on role for someone who communicates well, stays organized under pressure, and genuinely values integrative medicine. Core Responsibilities Welcome and orient patients with warmth and professionalism Manage patient flow and timing throughout the clinic day—ensuring patients are prepared, rooms are turned over, and providers are never waiting Prepare, maintain, and turn over treatment rooms between every appointment Support accurate and timely charting and clinical documentation across multiple provider types Assist with scheduling adjustments and appointment coordination as directed by reception Compile referral documentation and support provider needs as they arise Track outstanding tasks throughout the day and follow through without being asked twice Support accurate billing documentation and CPT coding as trained Who We're Looking For This role requires someone who is strong in all three of the following areas. Candidates who are great with patients but disorganized, or organized but uncomfortable with people, will not succeed here.
Patient Interaction:
Communicates with warmth, clarity, and calm—especially with patients navigating chronic illness, complex histories, or emotional vulnerability Holds a trauma-aware, professional presence in all patient interactions Knows how to make someone feel seen and supported without losing appropriate clinical boundaries
Documentation & Paperwork:
Accurate, thorough, and timely with all written tasks—charting, billing notes, referral packets Does not let documentation slip; understands that incomplete records create clinical and legal risk Comfortable learning clinic-specific systems and maintaining consistency across providers
Task & Time Management:
Tracks multiple patients and tasks simultaneously without losing the thread Anticipates what the provider needs before being asked Manages appointment timing so the day stays on schedule—knows when to move things along and how to do it gracefully Self-directed and capable of holding the operational rhythm even on busy days Additional Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred; current CMA students are encouraged to apply Experience in acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, or functional medicine settings a strong plus Bilingual in Spanish or Russian preferred; all languages welcome Genuine interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, and integrative health philosophy Reliable and punctual—every shift, every time Compensation & Schedule Starting pay: $23.00/hour Priority days: Tuesdays and Thursdays (typically longer days) Secondary availability: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings Schedule is flexible and will be built collaboratively with the right candidate Part-time to start with opportunity to grow alongside the clinic Please Note This is a Medical Assistant position supporting alternative and integrative health providers.
