Full Job Description Medical Assistant:
Occupational Medicine Spokane Work Injury Clinic is actively seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Assistant to complement its team of health professionals. We promote a smaller practice culture emphasizing a compassionate patient experience, teamwork, and communication. As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing support to the licensed medical providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Experience with workers compensation preferred.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular, consistent, and timely attendance. Outstanding time management skills necessary Answer telephones, relay messages to patients. Must be completely competent in checking manual vital signs. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and prepare patients for examination by the attending provider. Interview patients to obtain basic medical information, review and update information in EMR. Collects patient healthcare data, including vitals, weight, chief complaint, ROS and pain assessment as directed Administer questionnaires/assist with forms; complete imaging and lab slips Completes patient care treatments and testing as ordered. Read patient chart notes and extrapolate necessary plan of care information to gather relevant test and referral results prior to next visit. Complies with completeness, accuracy and timeliness of documentation within the EMR and other documents Clean and sterilize instruments, surfaces and dispose of contaminated supplies. Maintain clean and organized clinic environment Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients. Assist providers by relaying information and responding to emails from attorneys and patients Obtain authorization for medication refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies. Submit and track provider authorization requests for procedures through Comagine. Obtain claim and account access, verify status, request and track records for new patients to prepare for provider review.
Requirements:
1 year minimum of relevant clinical medical experience . Advanced proficiency in MS Office and patient management software Ability to quickly comprehend and take direction. Information collection and management
