This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across diverse medical specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient clinics. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in various specialties such as dermatology, emergency medicine, or internal medicine. Take and record accurate vital signs, medical histories, and patient intake information using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness and readiness for each patient visit. Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support when needed. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records with precise ICD coding and medical terminology. Support medical administrative functions such as billing documentation, inventory management of medical supplies, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient settings like ICU or PICU or outpatient clinics to deliver top-tier patient service. Experience Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in settings such as hospital medicine, urgent care centers, outpatient clinics, or specialty practices like dermatology or geriatrics. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient care documentation. Demonstrated ability to perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and vital signs measurement. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or hospital environments is highly desirable. Inpatient experience in Geriatrics or Medical-surgical units adds valuable insight into complex patient needs. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy certification or radiology training are advantageous.
