Hours:
Full-Time 0.80 FTE (32 hours/week). The position extends beyond just the summer period and requires a commitment of 32 hours per week thereafter.
Work Schedule:
Days/PM'S. No weekends required.
Job Description:
The Cardiac Short Stay unit encompasses both the pre and post-procedural areas for elective cardiac and radiology procedures. A Clinical Assistant's role is to deliver patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, which encompasses taking vital signs, preparing the surgical site before procedures, assisting patients with ambulation, and providing care support. Responsibilities also include coordinating and processing patient information for the department, undertaking secretarial duties, ensuring an organized department workflow, handling internal and external requests for patient information, and managing hospital telephone calls while communicating with the relevant staff and/or providers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma and health care business courses preferred or demonstrates necessary skills to fulfill job duty/responsibilities is required. Listed on State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Registry required.
Physical and Medical Rehabilitation/Neurology and Emergency Department:
Listed on Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Registry or current Wisconsin Emergency Medical Tech (EMT) license/certification required. Previous customer service and medical office/health care experience preferred, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with computer/keyboarding skills required. Essential skills for working in a fast-paced environment are required: the ability to multitask, work in a team, be flexible, reliable, and possess good communication skills.
