We change lives by helping and employing people of all backgrounds. 5 Door Recovery, a program within Catholic Charities, has an immediate opening for a Clinical Support Specialist. The Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for providing supervision and support of residents at 5 Door Recovery. This position is also responsible for providing thorough communication with the treatment team. Services delivered must be consistent with state and federal regulations, the established care delivery model, and the general operating philosophy and agency values. Starting pay is $21.15 per hour, with a cost differential for hours worked on the weekends, commensurate with experience.

Provides orientation for new residents as needed; ensures that residents are aware of program expectations and scheduling, providing prompts and encouragement as necessary to residents who are not following expectations; responsible for discipline and issuing violations if necessary. Facilitates and/or co-facilitates psycho-educational, therapy, process, and experiential groups. Administers urinalysis and breathalyzer tests to residents as scheduled. Provides medication monitoring and related documentation; dispenses medications to residents and accurately records; assists the medical case manager with checking in medications and creating Medication Administration Records. Documents for each resident in End of Shift Summaries and individualized Daily Notes observations of residents' attitudes toward treatment and recovery. Assists the Primary Counselors with tasks as assigned. Performs informal counseling with residents as needed and documents appropriately. Qualifications Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training (SAC-IT) eligible, or other credential with a specialized knowledge and training in mental health and substance use disorders, granted by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services; minimum of either Certified Recovery Coach or Certified Peer Support Specialist credential. Familiarity with co-occurring disorders, i.e., mental health substance use disorders, and general recovery principles. Demonstrated skills in active listening and supportive counseling. Clear understanding of boundaries related to personal recovery, 12-step self-help, and professional treatment. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
