Summary The Podiatry Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, provides advanced nursing care focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of foot, ankle, and lower extremity conditions. Working in collaboration with podiatrists and the healthcare team, the NP or PA evaluates musculoskeletal and dermatologic issues, manages diabetic foot care, and supports surgical and non-surgical interventions. Job Description Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including history and physical exams of foot and ankle conditions. Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and vascular studies. Manage acute and chronic foot problems including infections, ulcers, deformities, and injuries. Provide diabetic foot care and education on prevention and management of complications. Assist with pre- and post-operative care in podiatric surgical procedures. Perform minor procedures within scope, such as nail debridement, wound care, and injections. Collaborate with podiatrists, endocrinologists, vascular specialists, and wound care teams. Educate patients on foot health, orthotics, footwear, and lifestyle modifications. Document all patient care accurately in the electronic health record. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Qualifications Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred. Experience or training in podiatry or wound care preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice. State Controlled Substance License (if required by State) National board certification as a Family (FNP-BC) or (FNP-C), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC) or (A-GNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP-BC) or
