Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures Administer medications as directed by physicians Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse Prepare patients for X-ray procedures and assist in the imaging process Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records (EHR) Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care Ensure compliance with safety protocols in a Level II Trauma Center environment Support outpatient services by coordinating appointments and follow-ups Collaborate with the internal medicine team to provide comprehensive patient care Experience Previous experience in a medical assistant role is preferred, particularly in gastroenterology settings Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential Familiarity with medication administration protocols is highly desirable Experience working in pediatric intensive care units (PICU) or similar environments is a plus Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic clinical tasks
