Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service while supporting clinical operations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure smooth clinic flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Collect and document patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and insurance details accurately. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting procedures like X-ray or medication administration. Perform basic clinical duties including specimen collection, wound care assistance, and assisting with in-room procedures in internal medicine. Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake processes, and follow-up communications to ensure an organized clinic flow. Maintain thorough documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and other medical records in compliance with privacy regulations. Support administrative functions such as answering phones, managing patient inquiries, verifying insurance coverage, and coordinating referrals or hospital admissions when necessary. Requirements Prior experience working in a healthcare setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding to accurately document patient information. Experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support is essential for efficient workflow management. Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle diverse populations including geriatrics and special needs patients. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with medication administration, and supporting inpatient or outpatient procedures confidently.
