Medical Assistant

Boone Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient clinical team. Job Summary The Medical Assistant (MA) supports daily clinic operations by assisting providers with patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks in an outpatient setting. The MA helps ensure efficient workflow, maintains accurate patient records, and provides quality patient care while following established clinical protocols and regulatory standards. This role works under the supervision of a licensed medical provider and plays an essential part in delivering safe, compassionate, and effective healthcare services. Essential Functions Clinical Responsibilities Assist providers during patient examinations and treatments Obtain and document vital signs and patient medical history Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and tests Administer medications and immunizations as directed by a provider Perform EKGs, blood draws, and specimen collection Perform waived laboratory testing to assist with diagnosis Assist with minor office procedures Recognize and respond to medical emergencies Provide basic patient care and first aid when needed Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Administrative Responsibilities Register patients and update medical records Schedule appointments and medical procedures Process lab orders and prescription refills as directed Manage clinic supplies and inventory Assist with insurance forms, billing, and patient follow-up Maintain strict patient confidentiality Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program Preferred 1 year of Medical Assistant or EMR experience BLS Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days) Skills We're Looking For Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organization and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills Commitment to providing excellent patient care Physical Requirements This role may require standing or sitting for extended periods, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
