Job Description
Boone Memorial Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient team. In this role, you'll be at the center of patient care—supporting providers, assisting patients, and helping keep our clinic running smoothly every day. Essential Functions Clinical Responsibilities Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures Prepare patients for visits, including obtaining vital signs and medical history Administer medications and injections as directed by a licensed provider Perform EKGs, blood draws, specimen collection, and waived lab testing Recognize and respond to medical emergencies, including First Aid Screen and follow up on patient test results Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records Support patient education and ensure a positive patient experience Administrative Responsibilities Register patients and manage scheduling for appointments and procedures Maintain patient charts and ensure confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) Process prescription refills and coordinate with pharmacies Assist with insurance forms, billing, and communication with insurance companies Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain clinic organization Follow up with patients regarding visits, test results, and care plans Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (required) BLS Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
Preferred:
