Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where your energy and dedication will directly enhance patient experiences and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service while supporting medical staff with clinical and administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical terminology, patient care, and clinic operations will contribute to delivering high-quality healthcare across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure smooth check-in processes Obtain and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic life support procedures Support physicians and nurses with procedures in various specialties like dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow coordination, and maintain organized medical records in compliance with privacy regulations Perform ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for accurate documentation of diagnoses and treatments Conduct basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support patient care initiatives in outpatient or inpatient settings such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Level I Trauma Centers Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology across multiple specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and medical-surgical units Proven experience with EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and billing purposes Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in high-pressure environments Familiarity with hospital experience requirements such as Level II trauma centers or Level I trauma centers is a plus Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and support intake procedures efficiently Knowledge of ICD coding standards and anatomy/physiology fundamentals to assist in diverse clinical scenarios Experience supporting emergency medicine procedures or outpatient clinics is highly desirable Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred to ensure readiness for emergency situations Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while advancing your career in a vibrant healthcare setting.
