The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is crucial in facilitating proper billing and reimbursement processes, while also maintaining the integrity of patient records. Duties Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes using
CPT & ICD-10
coding systems. Ensure accuracy in medical coding to support billing processes and compliance with regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulations. Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient management of patient records and coding tasks. Assist in medical billing and collections processes as needed. Uphold confidentiality standards while managing sensitive patient information. Skills Proficient in CPT coding, ICD-10, and general ICD coding practices. Strong understanding of medical billing procedures and collections processes. Previous experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems for effective record management. Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and documentation standards. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for accurate coding. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
