Job Description

Overview The Charge Capture Associate is responsible for reviewing and analyzing all aspects of the department clinical documentation and care to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant charge capture and submission. The charge capture will include the assignment of departmental specific procedures, which may include surgical/lab procedure charges, infusion and injection charges, in according to departmental and governmental regulatory guidelines. May also review and analyzes unit-based medical record documentation and assigns CPT evaluation and management (E/M) facility codes. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Work Experience 2 years of experience in healthcare with knowledge of medical terminology and coding terminology (including CPT and ICD) Required Experience in data entry and/or prior medical coding/billing Preferred Patient Care experience Preferred Licenses and Certifications None Required Certified Emergency Department Coder (CEDC) Credential Preferred or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
