Overview:
This job is located in Peoria,IL 5 x 8 hour shifts (8-4:30) day shift
POSITION SUMMARY
Monitors coding, charging, and compliance with charge entry. Presents documentation and coding education including corrective practices to physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff. Monitors provider coding profiles and reviews medical records to assess compliance with documentation and coding regulations. Codes surgical procedures and consults providers as needed. Serves as an ongoing resource to clinicians and staff. Contacts insurance companies as necessary for verifying insurance and billing inquiries. Provides assistance by answering patient billing questions and escalates as necessary.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School/GED Experience:
Three years in coding and reimbursement to have knowledge base of CPT codes, HCPCS, ICD-10, and third-party insurance requirements.
Other skills/knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
