Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Coder, where your expertise will be vital in translating medical documentation into accurate, standardized codes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring precise billing, reimbursement, and data integrity by assigning appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes. Duties Review and analyze medical records, including physician notes, lab reports, and treatment documentation to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures Apply appropriate coding systems such as
ICD-9, ICD-10
(International Classification of Diseases), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) to ensure precise classification of medical services Ensure all codes are compliant with current coding guidelines and insurance requirements for accurate billing and reimbursement Collaborate with medical billing teams to facilitate smooth claim submissions and resolve coding discrepancies Maintain thorough documentation of coding decisions and updates within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, regulations, and insurance policies to ensure ongoing compliance Assist with audits by providing detailed coding documentation and explanations as needed Skills Strong knowledge of
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding systems, and DRG classifications Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and data entry Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, and clinical procedures Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately and efficiently Familiarity with medical office workflows and healthcare compliance standards Exceptional attention to detail to ensure error-free coding that supports optimal revenue cycle management This role is an excellent fit for motivated professionals eager to contribute their coding expertise in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour
