Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented medical biller and coder to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role combines clinical expertise with advanced coding skills to ensure accurate medical documentation, billing, and reimbursement processes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering quality patient care through precise coding and thorough record management, contributing to the efficiency and integrity of our medical operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, supporting seamless communication across healthcare providers. We utilize AthenaNet for medical billing and practice management. Experience with Athena is not require but is highly beneficial Duties Review and interpret medical documentation to assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology),ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Ensure accurate coding for medical billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes in compliance with current regulations. Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records, including detailed documentation of diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and improve coding accuracy. Utilize EMR and EHR systems efficiently to input, update, and retrieve patient information while maintaining confidentiality. Conduct thorough audits of medical records for completeness and correctness, supporting medical collection efforts when necessary. Stay current with evolving medical coding guidelines, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office settings with strong familiarity in medical billing, collections, and record management. Expertise in
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Solid understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation practices. Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) platforms. Knowledge of medical records management and the ability to navigate complex coding procedures accurately. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and stay updated on industry regulations related to medical coding.
