The ideal candidate will possess at least one year of CPC experience as well as comprehensive knowledge of medical coding standards and billing procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient coding for ob/gyn services provided both in office and in a hospital setting. As a Certified Professional Coder, you will play a vital role in translating clinical documentation into precise codes that facilitate billing, reimbursement, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of our medical office and support the delivery of quality patient care. Required Certifications Active and ongoing Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required. Duties Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes. Ensure accurate coding for outpatient and inpatient procedures, diagnoses, and treatments in accordance with established guidelines. Collaborate with providers, billers, and staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations, payer policies, and industry standards to ensure compliance. Utilize EMR/EHR systems effectively for coding and record management. Assist in medical billing processes by verifying codes for claims submission. Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to coding protocols. Support ongoing training initiatives to keep the healthcare team informed about changes in coding practices and regulations. Skills Polished communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Competency in working with digital files. Ability to multitask with ease. Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding. Proficiency in medical billing and medical record review. Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation review. Experience working with EMR systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical records accurately. Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers and billing teams. Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable to understand workflow dynamics.
