Position Summary The Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing medical records, assigning accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring coding compliance, and supporting reimbursement efforts. This position works closely with providers and billing staff to improve documentation accuracy and resolve coding-related claim issues. Responsibilities Review and code patient encounters accurately and timely. Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation. Identify and resolve coding and documentation discrepancies. Review coding-related claim denials and assist with corrections and resubmissions. Conduct coding audits and ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. Serve as a coding resource for providers and staff. Assist with training and education regarding coding guidelines. Perform other billing and coding duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical coding experience preferred. CPC, CCS, or related coding certification preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy.
