Certified Medical Coder Saint Clair Shores, MI 48080 Part-time, Full-time Part-time, Full-time Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing
• Review and assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services performed by physicians and other qualified healthcare providers
• Verify patient insurance coverage and submit claims to insurance companies
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure accurate documentation and coding
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulationsSkills
• Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health record systems
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10
• Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

Qualifications:

• CPC Certified
• Experience utilizing EMR/EHR and/or Practice Management software. Office currently uses Athena
• Windows-based computer experience required
• Medical Terminology knowledge preferred Experience
• ICD coding: 2 years (OBGYN experience preferred)
