Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic OB- GYN Team as a Certified Billing & Coder, where your expertise will drive accurate medical billing and coding processes that ensure seamless reimbursement and compliance. In this vital role, you'll leverage your knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures to support healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to a well-organized, efficient office environment dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Accurately assign diagnosis codes using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to reflect patient conditions and procedures performed Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for precise billing of services Review medical records and documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with coding standards Submit claims electronically through EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, ensuring timely processing Follow up on unpaid claims, perform medical collections, and resolve billing discrepancies with insurance companies or patients Maintain detailed records of medical coding activities, updates, and audits for regulatory compliance Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and optimize billing accuracy Requirements Certification as a Medical Coder or Billing Specialist from an accredited organization is Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related office roles within a healthcare setting Strong knowledge of
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, DRG classifications, and medical terminology Familiarity with medical records management and documentation review processes Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for claim submission and record keeping Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to interpret complex medical information Ability to adapt to evolving coding standards and regulatory requirements Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a tangible difference in healthcare delivery.
