2+ years in: Medical coding Billing Abstracting Certification (at least one required):

CCS CPC CHONC

Core Knowledge:

Medical terminology & anatomy Coding systems:

ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS

Physician clinic revenue cycle Multi-specialty coding & billing Documentation validation from medical records Government & payer regulations Key Functional Skills Candidates should be comfortable with: Charge capture workflows Claims analysis & issue resolution EHR and Rx validation Handling denials Compliance and audit readiness They'll also need to follow ethical standards from organizations like the American Health Information Management Association and American Academy of Professional Coders, and comply with regulations from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Pay:
